I have seen a few mails similar to my problem but none of them have
answered my problem

I am using qpopper 4.0.3 on FreeBSD 4.4-RC #5, nothing special.

my configure parameters are
configure --enable-popbulldir=/usr/local/popper/bulletin --enable-log-login
--enable-spool-dir=/usr/mail --enable-temp-drop-dir=/home/mail
--enable-keep-temp-drop --enable-servermode
--enable-bulletins=/usr/local/popper/bulletin --enable-timing

The problem I see has something to do with attachments (I think). How it
starts I don't know.

The symptoms.

A random user complains that his mail times out while receiving messages,
he has received a number of messages from the mail file. eg. If there are
10 messages to download, it stops at 5 and times out. (It can be number one
as well)

All future attempts to download fail at the same point.

I can copy the mail file to another user and the problem still exists. Well
almost all occasions except once.
On this occasion, after copying the mail file to another user, I actually
managed to download all the messages and they were all marked as read up
until the message that stopped. (As I said only once, and may have been
another problem)

If I edit the mail file and delete the offending message (Only common thing
I see is that the message I delete always has an attachment). The user can
now download all messages.

The message can be any message in the file, so far it has happened on 5
different users, on many occasions.

So with all that said it I would say its a corruption in the mail file. I
have checked the mail headers and all looks good to the naked eye. Even the
"From" field is correct.

Can anyone shed some light on this problem.

Wayne
