Actually this is just what hams do best. Long before the qrp-l and the internet there was the average ham's fascination and over-rating of the "G5RV", which is a fine 20 meter antenna if the pattern will work for you. It is definitely NOT *the* premiere multi-band antenna some well meaning hams make it out to be. And I remember being preached at 20 to 30 years ago by hams about this king of the dipoles and that I was just not "getting out" until I put one up. I generally (but not always) listened politely and did not let them in on what I do professionally or what I already knew about "aerials". (<- I generally saved that behavior for those that should know better.) These announcements were made with the usual fanfare, pomp, and such over this long weekend. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Submissions: [email protected] Unsubscribe: [EMAIL PROTECTED] - unsubscribe qrplist in body Hopelessly Lost: [EMAIL PROTECTED] - help in body of message Zerobeat Web Page: http://www.zerobeat.net - sponsored by www.tlchost.net ----------------------------------------------------------------------
