How far does anything ..yes anything ..go without 'working' at it in some degree? I can not see anywhere, or anyhow Kerry or Edwards implied otherwise.   " " the work that we will do when John Kerry is President" Which is backing the research possibilities.   They are saying they will work for the research. As is continued from the statement " if we do the work we are capable of doing in this country" Funding research... WE...a composite of all entities combined. A force that we as a whole ( the united states) ..can do the work. Researchers, Drug companies, Doctors, physicists, and even individuals in just paying their taxes. Bush's platform restricts this research, as well as many other medical issues (AIDS being one)  from what I believe is pixilated logic.  But I digress.   Newspeak?   I am again sorry, it is not newspeak...it's  English.   So the bottom line in this all is you disagree with the one word " Will"  as in " will get out of their wheelchairs"  Ok, I can  agree, " will"  may have been a misstatement.  We do not know as a true fact, 100 years or more from now, quads  WILL walk.  But nor did they know we WILL go to the moon. But I think in the entire statement, in context, it was a perfectly logical wording. The work has to be done, if there is to be any hope, and not just in SCI.   How many misstatements has Bush made? To mince one word, I find a little odd, given the context.   And, as I said...when the entire statement, is heard and read, no where is he promising that Quads will walk if they are elected. I'm not one of those who needs to question the definition of "is". If the glass is half full you still have a half a glass that is full of air. I view kerry words empty as the air half.
