Hi all got a 33.6 supra modem fitted to my 840 and I decided to use free-ppp to access the net when I configured to modem I noticed the port speed box so I set it to 57600 because I new that this was the ports max.
for some reason it connects at 57600 every-time even though the modem is a 33.6 I have tried this with all my Mac's and the 3400 connects at 56000 the 190 the same and the duo 230 at 14.400 using their own modems if I use the supra it goes to 57600 on all but the duo. now I have no complaints but is there a way to upgrade the modems and if so is it hardware internal or flash. (I am just wondering weather the person I got it from has done this or not) or is this a software fool to make people think their connection is quicker than it is and it is really only connecting at 33.6 or the hardware max. advice please Victoria. -- Quadlist is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
