I have been searching the Internet and am looking for a place where I can
find pictures with instructions on what is on the back of various Macs. Can anyone help. Thank you.

Try everymac.com.
There is no picture of the backs for each model but there is a port list that shows the icons molded onto the case and what they are used for. This should give you somewhere to start.
The port list is in the members section, membership is free and non intrusive.
