Sounds great to me. What Quadra am I going to retro-fit this here, noofangled 9.1 or 9.2 onto? A Quadra G3? [not a serious question] Having survived the "install OS 8.5 onto the PPC 650* routine, I guess not in the too near future ;) -- *A Quadra 650 with an Apple PPC PDS upgrade card is "seen" by System software installers up to OS 8.1 as a "PPC 650" > There is a vast difference between Open Transport V.1.1.1 > and OT 1.1.2. where 7.5.3 or 7.6.1 are concerned. > Important note: > OT 1.1.1 must already be installed before it can be updated to OT > 1.1.2. You may find OT 1.1.2 on a 7.6.1 install CD or on an OS 8. . . > I can't recall off hand. I copy mine from a MacAddict CD. I've decided IMHO that 1.1.2 is a total crock of shite. 1.1.1 seems more stable and holds me through to when I get around to "upgrading" an OT [Off topic] Mac to 8.5 - where the other OT [Open Transport] gets away from OT 1.1.2's evil clutches... No I can't elucidate, I had networking probs with 1.1.2, which I never experienced with 1.1.1, so sticking with 1.1.1 up to where I could get away from 1.1.2 for me, helped. Just my OP, then again, I *never* liked 7.6.1 either, and some folks would swear by it. Whereas I never had any probs with 7.5.5 and others simply loathed 7.5.x, period. YMMV, I guess. -- Quadlist is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
