Make sure the fan is running the right way and that it's on the right side of the radiator. Does the Xtreme use the Sierra rad fan and is it still fitted on the same side of the rad ? Putting a fan on the other side and swapping the wires over doesn't work very well.
Sucking fans have different blade shapes to blowing fans.

I believe the issue is trying to get the heat out from beneath the
bonnet, but a bigger fan is definantly a good starting point.

at that normally.

Over 100 degrees isn't a problem, thats why cooling systems are pressurised
so they can go over 100 degrees without the water boiling.
If it goes over 110 in traffic then maybe you need a bigger fan.
