I'm sure there are others on this list very familiar with dedicated VJ software apps that could provide more info, but I believe some of the VJ apps probably have a UI designed for better targeting specific parts of an audio mix. Other than building it yourself in QC, maybe you could use a VJ app. VDMX is one such app which can be used in conjunction with QC comps ; http://www.vidvox.net/ - from the marketing info on that page ; Using the built-in audio analysis plugin, any effect or control in VDMX becomes audio reactive with the click of a mouse. That said, I haven't used it... I have lots of experience with Adobe After Effects plugins that do this [ http://borisfx.cachefly.net/borisfx/tv/BCC7renders/Beat%20React/BRintro.mov ] and I've had success isolating specific audio events in that case, but it's not realtime and couldn't really be used in a live performance scenario > > > > On Tue, Aug 17, 2010 at 3:52 PM, Joshua <[email protected]> wrote: > The best way to do that is to open the audio up in an editor like protools or > logic and zoom in on the asdr of the audio waves, and try to splice out a > section that is just kick.
