I suggest, in that case, that you reset QWS to default settings.
NOTE: the following steps, if followed correctly, are reversable:
1. Using Windows Explorer, navigate to the directory in which you installed
QWS, usually
c:\program files\qws
2. Navigate the folder list until you find "qws.ini".
3. Press F2 to rename the file, press end, and type ".bac".
4. Press ENTER. You will be warned about changing the file extention -
press the SPACE BAR.
5. Close Windows Explorer and launch QWS.
6. You will receive a message informing you that QWS settings could not be
found and that the defaults will be used. This is fine, press ENTER.
7. Create a new track with CTRL+INSERT, press ENTER for the track
properties and report whether there are still two instances of "Microsoft GS
Wavetable ...".
