Hi Andre,
Yes, the program change only becomes audible when I exit the track
properties in qws. After reading James' and your answer, I tried the same
thing, with the same result. Under options, the midi in dialogs checkbox is
on. None the less, the program change won't come through to my synth as I
arrow up or down in the track properties program field. However, if I send
out a program change from my master keyboard, that passes through qws to my
synth, then the change is immediate.
You and James are saying that the qws behaviour in this respect is
different, so What am I overlooking?
Paul.

Paul Erkens happened to mention in passing:
Next, If you change the patch or program number via the track
properties, my experience is that it is not sent out to the synth as I
arrow along to the desired program number by qws, so also in tthis
situation, you have no real time feedback. Depending on your synthesizer
though, there may be a solution. I don't know if you've seen it already,
but qws allows you to create an instrument list, or use an existing one
if it matches your synth. Would it help you if you saw things like
piano, celesta, organ etc instead of just program numbers? If so, an
instrument list will help you some. It is still not a real time
feedback, but you will have an idea of what you are doing.
There is an option in qWS, alt O, o, called send midi in dialogs.
When set, changing volume, pan, reverb, chorus, bank or patch will result
in an immediate change noticeable to you if you play the synth at time of
change.
This has been available in qWS for a number of versions I don't know how
many, but enough to where anyone running a moderately new copy of the
program should see this option.
Unless I got my whires crossed Paul, you say that when you change patches
in QWS your synth does not pick up on this until you exit out of the track
properties and either press space, control Q, control W, or record? Am I
right?
