Hi Onj,

I am playing with two different computers here. My desktop, which is not connected up with a musical keyboard, and my laptop, which is connected to my K-2600 via a usb to midi connector; the midi ports located on the back panel of the keyboard..

Concerning the desktop, I have selected my sound card, a Realtek AC97 Audio as my chosen midi device in the track view. But I will check my port settings under track properties.
I take it that the port is the connected midi device which generates sound?

Thanks,

Johnny

Greetings, and welcome to the list.
first things first, then. When you say you have chosen your soundcard, please explain exactly what you did? Might I assume that in the track properties after the demo song is loaded, you tabbed over to port and chose Microsoft Wavetable synth? You can reach track properties by pressing alt enter on any given track. From another message you sent to the list, I realise you have a keyboard. Is it connected to the computer in any way? Perhaps using a usb to midi interface? Or maybe it has a usb port on the back? Some modern keyboards do.
Any information you can provide should help us to get you started.

Greetings all,

Johnny Chilelli here.

Setting up QWS to work on a Windows computer:

On my desktop:

* I don't know what I am missing, but I am not able to hear the
Beethoven demo Song through my sound card on this particular computer
after loading the demo and hitting play. How do I fix this? The
sound card is chosen and nothing is muted and the volumes are at
500. Using WE 7.2 on this XP machine.

On the laptop running WE 7.2 in Windows 7:

* MIDI connections to my laptop are all in place using an EMU 1 MIDI
connector to a Kurzweil K-2600 keyboard. Would someone please direct
me to the section of the QWS manual that instructs how to set this up
correctly?

* Finally, at least for now, is it possible to do vocal tracks in QWS?

Thanks much,

Johnny
