Hi, o boy you could write a book on this one.
It’s tempting to say, if you don’t know what it is you don’t need to know but
that’s not always true and probably not the answer you’re looking for, lol.
Ok, here I go, anyone who wants to feel free to weigh in on this one, ,smile>.
Basically it’s a system clock which, as the name suggests, tells devices where
the start of a measure is and what tempo is being used.
it’s only really relevant if you’re trying to sync multiple devices.
it’s usually sequencer dependent, you’re right basmidi doesn’t like it on at
all, and i’d recommend turning it off even if you’re not experiencing issues
with it.
it’s implementation is tricky so I’ll let one of the old hands, Nicole or one
of you maybe, weigh in on it but I’m old enough to remember when it was
implemented and we were all quite excited back in those days cause it meant we
could auto sync our lights, etc, ,smile>.
Best I can do at midnight, <smile>, but if you have specific questions ask and
I’ll dig through the archives etc and see if I can find answers for you, .
Cheers!

Subject: QWS List midi clock?

Hi list,
Recently someone mentioned the midi clock, which I've never used. I don't even
know what it's for. The only thing I do know is that Bassmidi doesn't like it
so I had to turn it off. So, can anyone explain what it is and how it would be
useful?
Thanks, and happy holidays!
