Well someone once sent a Yamaha PSR-E403 definition to the list, and by what
I know it has very little difference from the E413. The thing is: I am not
sure if the instrument definition would have something to do with the
problem, since the sounds are coming out strange even if I leave only the
drums turned on and the program's channel to 0. It comes a piano track on
channel 9 if I do channel split even if there should only be the drum
sounds. I tried to do gm reset, gm2 rese, gs reset, xg reset, nothing worked
as expected... But I'll keep on trying or fixing those things manually...
Thanks anyway!
André.

Andre, does your keyboard have an instrument definition list? That
might be the problem? I don't know--I don't have a yamaha--but I
thought it might have different instruments than just the standard
midi instruments that qws is configured to use by default. Just a
thought. Does your keyboard also use xg? U might also need to send an
xg message to qws in order to make stuff work correctly. Dewald might
know more, & James Bowden, the program author, monitors this list, so
I think I'll keep my mouth shut now so as not to insert foot any
further & defer to them, since I'm just making a WAG or 2 anyway.

1) Turn on the keyboard;
2) Press function button;
3) press the category button 11 times til it gets to the option to send
style data to the computer;
4) press the plus button;
5) Turn on QWS and create a new track, and finally;
6) press the start/stop button and here comes drums mixed with piano,
etc...
Thanks for trying to help!
André.

Explain to me what you do step by step.
Mine also does that sometimes, like when i load the "not yet split" file
into QWS, it plays everything as piano except the drums.
Then is just set the number of the style on my keyboard, and it plays
back
alright.

Subject: QWS List Strange behavior between a keyboard and a computer:
Hello everyone!
I have a Yamaha PSR-E413 keyboard and yesterday found out where to
configure it so that the style would be sent to the computer through the
USB
cable, thus being detected by QWS. The thing is that it seems to be
sending
the wrong instruments. What could be happening? Note that the channel in
QWS
was left at 0 so it would work, but when I did channel split, even some
drums were in the wrong place...
Thanks,
André.
