The Tyros 4 is one hell of an amazing instrument. In my humble opinion, the finest keyboard out. To your question. Many of us who own Yamaha keyboards have begged Yamaha for greater accessibility only to have our pleas fall on def ears. The only way you can get anywhere with the instrument is by the assistance of friends and family as well as anybody else who you can get to stand still long enough to read what's on the screen for you.

It's not just a matter of memorizing button pushes. Depending on the key pressed anywhere on the keyboard menus change and depending on previous settings those may or may not be the same. You can reset the instrument by holding down the highest white key to the right wile turning on the keyboard but that only returns you to factory settings and is kind of like using an atomic bomb to kill a fly. Never the less, if the musician is interested in playing music they find a way. There is an old adage that says if you want something badly enough that your willing to do what ever it takes, you'll be successful.

I have owned a Tyros 1 sense 2003 and love it. I've used it both professionally and privately and my audiences have loved it and were amazed that the sound it produces sounds so real.

Subject: QWS List Possibly off-topic - accessibility of keyboards

Hi there,
I'm not a regular contributor to the list, but wondering if anyone can
offer any thoughts on accessibility and usability of Yamaha Tyros 4 or
Motif arranger work station keyboards for blind users?
A client has enquired and I have no experience of using them.
Any thoughts and suggestions welcome.
With apologies to my good friends the moderators for venturing slightly
off-topic.
Cheers, James
