The iPhone audio hardware is pretty high quality. I'm totally impressed. It would be super cool to have a QWS app on IOS and Android. Is the source code available? I've got a multi platform development environment that could be used to perform such a task depending on the source and libraries available.

I've struggled to find an accessible midi player/editor on my iPhone 5 running IOS 7. For most apps it is simply a matter of connecting keystrokes to buttons on the touch screen to make it accessible, but most app developers don't seem to realize that people do use full QWERTY keyboards with their smart-phones.

Peace,
David

If it's possible from the IPhone side then QWS can do it, so it's really an
IPhone question, not a QWS question. You'll need some sort of way to set up
the IPhone as a MIDI port so QWS can know where to send MIDI data, then
you'll need to set the IPhone apps to receive multi-channel MIDI data to
make it work. I'd suggest talking to folks using the IPhone as a music
device to find out if it can be done. (This probably get better results if
you don't use a blind musicians list, as there's probably not enough folks
using their phones this way)
I wouldn't do it, personally. The output resolution from most phones isn't
professional quality. But if you like that bit of grunge in your sound and
it works for you, then best of luck with it.

Hi Juan
What I mean is, that there are apps you can download for the iPhone,
such as ThumbJam and Garage Band. Both these apps come with their own
"built-in"
sound fonts, if you will. What I want to know is, whether or not it
would be possible to launch either of these apps on your phone, and
have it connected to your pc via USB and so on, and to use the sound
fonts on the phone as part of your sequencing in QWS.

I am not sure what do you exactly mean in how Can you use the iPhone as
a
synth... question.. Usually, qws will work with any midi USB synths or
even
firewire (I have done some remote controlling with a makie digital
console
ETC) . YOu can look up on the articles for using vsts, and connecting
other
synths through virtual midi cables, but until you can clarify I cannot
be of
further aid, unless there's clearly something I'm missing or failing to
understand.
