Just to observe that WinBUGS will run on a any recent Mac using Crossover or the free WINE on which it is based.

Last time I looked, which was probably over a year ago, the R - WinBUGS interfaces did not understand recent versions of WINE, but this may have been fixed.

Alternatively you can use JAGS to run BUGS models on a Mac. This now has an R interface on CRAN and will run in 64 bit even when used with a 32 bit version of R.
