Are you suggesting that this serve as a guide for the choice of the
steering committee's plublic list for the discussion of the standard? If
so, how does it make sense? Such discussions are by their nature not
general, and usually can be expected to have a specific group, namely,
the committee, most interested in, and posting the most to, the group.
For this, something like a Steering list would be more useful.

However, if you are suggesting that any discussions about the future of
Scheme should all go there instead of to a general group, I disagree,
because I think that the future of Scheme is of general importance.

My only comment would be that we don't name it R7. That implies a
direction for the Steering committee that we shouldn't inherintly force
upon them. Rather, it should be something like steering-discuss. Nothing
is wrong with that. However, if we start to use it as a general forum,
and not as a very specific list for the steering committee and
interested public, then I think we've gone off track. Those types of
discussions should go to a general forum, the main of which I believe is
CLS. Though, I still say we need a mailing list gateway to CLS as well
as a Web Forum (though, who ever likes web forums is crazy, imo. ;-) ).
