Agreed. McFly did this, and the license metadata was included in the generated documentation. Example: "http://www.neilvandyke.org/racket-csv/";.
(Incidentially, you can see in the History section of that page that I changed the license from LGPLv2.x to LGPLv3 perhaps too sneakily in version 0.7.)
Even if the tools don't do much with the metadata yet, getting (correct) metadata into packages early and often is good.
