Thanks for your input Toby. The issue with using ICS is that it requires a working internet connection. What I am after is a connection only between the laptop and the radio. I would have thought it possible. What will need to happen is a network address be given to the radio probably when it joins the laptops network. Given there is no way I can find to allocate a static IP to the unit. I am thinking that the laptop will need some dhcp server software. I wish there was an easy guide or a you can't do this somewhere.
The only other way I see is using a player or phone connected by 3.5 inch jack to the back of the unit. I would like to be untethered. What on the face of it seems to be both possible and likely to be easy has been any thing but... still waiting on miracle advice anyone.
