Thanks mrw. That makes a lot of sense and explains why 40 works fine.
I've been using 40ms since my last post and so far have had no problems. It is surprising the fractional part gives a problem. I'll have a look through my library and see what other sample rates I have to see if i can find one divisible by say 20 and 30 but not 40... I'll let you know if i find anything.
