What screen resolution do you design your forms for? Most of my forms are still designed to fit inside a 1024x768 display since a lot of users had their OS and CPUs upgraded but are still stuck with old monitors. Our new screens will be designed for the now standard 1920x1080 which seems to be the current standard. Next question, I currently use two 23” 1920x1080 monitors side by side and by and large works reasonably well. I am now considering moving to one ultra-wide monitor (34”???). Seems like there is less stress on the video driving one ultra-wide than two standard resolution monitors unless you get a 4K monitor. I understand it is very subjective and also depends on desk space real estate but any thought on the subject would be appreciated. Last, I am looking at new laptop. I have had an Intel Core 7 laptop (with an upgraded SSD) and fortunately I bought the fastest processor available at the time and has served me very well for many years and still does. At one time, there were compatibility issues with AMD processors and being an old timer it still registers although I know that is no longer an issue. Some colleagues tell me the AMD Ryzen processor series is faster and cheaper than the comparable Intel. Any experience with either? I know you can’t go wrong with Intel but maybe the new generation of AMD processors are indeed the better choice.
