HI all

I have a strange one. A user had
a "bad" spot on the hard drive or
something like that, they do not
remember! They ran a program to
fix the errors, then they couldn't
connect to the data base.

They tried all sorts of strange things
before they called me, like re-installing
my program from the orginal disks!! That's
right, this overwrote all of her data for
the last 3 years.

But wait she has some CD backups that were
made "recently" one of them has the data
files dated 11/13/2001. She says she made that
CD April 2002. I opened the data files and
the last date for any data is 11/12/2001.

She had several other CD's, I copied them
on my hard drive, tried to connect and I get
a message "RBase 5.5 and older must be converted"
The only version I sent her is 6.1!! Strange.

So, I tried to convert this old version and I get
an error message "Incorrect version flag" and I
can't upgrade or convert the db. What does that
message mean and how in the world did this db get
so old so quick?

I am afraid she is out of luck unless anyone has
a suggestion.

thanks
marc

ps: anyone want a user!
does that mean
