Hundreds upon thousands of apps behave properly under Windows. Now, if the response
was 'this is a legacy environment which cannot run under modern Windows kernels', I'd
probably accept it. But to say 'Microsoft changed windows, it's their fault', really
doesn't fly well with me. I probably have 5 virtual memory crashes a day (from my
users, not my own machine). They're tired of me telling them that there's nothing
that can be done about it, and I'm tired of hearing about the problem So I had a well
known and very skilled RBase developer track down the problem. And I/he believe it's
been pinpointed and reproduceable. Hopefully he can get RBTI to reproduce it and help
him/us out.

One thing that seems to aggrevate the problem is when you have 2 Rbase applications
running at the same time IE, RBase Dos and an Oterro application. This combo creates
an unusable (so slow) system on 98 machines, and virtual memory problems on NT
machines. I don't have the RBase background, nore the low level debugging skills
(tracking memory interrupts directly would be required) to figure out a problem like
that.

In extended testing earlier this year, we isolated the problem to NT kernels as well,
but find that the problem does not occur with NT 4.0, only subsequent versions of
Windows, where the DOS box is an emulation. In our opinion, it is a Microsoft
problem.
