David, Sorry that I was fast in my reply but wanted to tell you about the file size problem with the load. I used to load over 100,000 rows using load and the way I HAD TO do it was to break them down into 25,000 blocks. I used Ultra Edit for that but you can use anything.
I am sending you some code that was used at least 100 times so that you can see the format. -- Program: LOADUSR.RMD -- Purpose: Loads the NCA records -- increment file blocks CLEAR ALL VARIABLES COMPUTE vtot2 AS COUNT file_id FROM usr WRITE 'Total Records in USR Table prior to load ', .vtot2 LOAD usr FROM 'part3.TXT' AS FORMATTED + USING + file_id 1 3, + nca_id 4 12, + mstr_rcd_typ 13 13, + mstr_rcd_exp 14 21, + rel_rcd_typ 22 22, + rel_rcd_exp 23 30,+ mstr_rcd_st_dt 31 38, + mstr_rcd_end_dt 39 46, + prim_ext_st_tm 47 55, + prim_ext_end_tm 56 64, + pbx_loc_cd 65 68,+ prim_ext_nbr 69 78, + net_nbr 79 88, + station_nbr 89 90, + dir_dial_nbr 91 100, + dir_dial_nbr_en_dt 101 108,+ dir_dial_nbr_v_cd 109 112, + auth_cd 113 122, + auth_cd_gp 123 124, + auth_cd_end_dt 125 132, + pr_cc_nbr 133 150,+ pr_cc_end_dt 151 158, + pr_cc_v_cd 159 162, + sec_cc_nbr 163 180, + sec_cc_end_dt 181 188, + sec_cc_v_cd 189 192,+ ter_cc_nbr 193 210, + ter_cc_end_dt 211 218, + ter_cc_v_cd 219 222, + nca_nm 223 252, + nac 253 254, + nac_end_dt 255 262, + vm_cd 263 264, + vm_cd_end_dt 265 272, + cm_cd 273 274, + cm_cd_end_dt 275 282, + ten_cd 283 283, + comp_cc_cd 284 294,+ cell_ph_nbr 295 304, + cell_ph_nbr_end_dt 305 312, + cell_ph_nbr_v_cd 313 316, + pager_nbr 317 326, + pager_nbr_end_dt 327 334, + pager_nbr_v_cd 335 338, + home_nbr 339 348, + home_nbr_end_dt 349 356,+ home_nbr_v_cd 357 360, + eq_typ_cd 361 370, + racf_id 371 378, + filler 379 390 COMPUTE vtot AS COUNT file_id FROM usr WRITE 'Total Records in USR Table after load ', .vtot PAUSE 1 RETURN Phil Nolette http://www.ncsgrp.com/ -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]]On Behalf Of David Torre Sent: Monday, December 09, 2002 4:24 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: importing tab-delimited files without GATEWAY Is there a way to import a TAB-delimited file into R:BASE that I can make automated (ie: not using the GATEWAY command). I can't seem to do it with the LOAD command. ================================================ TO SEE MESSAGE POSTING GUIDELINES: Send a plain text email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] In the message body, put just two words: INTRO rbase-l ================================================ TO UNSUBSCRIBE: send a plain text email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] In the message body, put just two words: UNSUBSCRIBE rbase-l ================================================ TO SEARCH ARCHIVES: http://www.mail-archive.com/rbase-l%40sonetmail.com/ ================================================ TO SEE MESSAGE POSTING GUIDELINES: Send a plain text email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] In the message body, put just two words: INTRO rbase-l ================================================ TO UNSUBSCRIBE: send a plain text email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] In the message body, put just two words: UNSUBSCRIBE rbase-l ================================================ TO SEARCH ARCHIVES: http://www.mail-archive.com/rbase-l%40sonetmail.com/
