Marc, Yes they both run on the same database. Create a new folder to put your programs in for 7.1, do not mix them in the same folder. You can connect to the active database while you reside in the new folder.
If your 6.1 forms and reports are in DOS, then I recommend copying your database to a third folder, run the conversion to 6.5++ win, make sure it works, then convert to 7.1. Once you are satisfied with your conversion, unload them, and load them into the active database. If you need further explanation, let me know.
