You would have to open/convert all of your forms / reports to 6.5++ then to 7.1.
Keep in mind that 6.5++ looks in the Sys_Reports2 and Sys_Forms2 for reports and 7.1
looks in Sys_Reports3 and Sys_Forms3. So each time you do the convert it saves the
report in the approiate table.

One important note, don't use the object manager in 6.5++ to delete any forms /
reports. If you do this will delete the DOS report / form with the same name.

This goes without saying but I'm going to say it anyhow, make sure you have a good
backup of all RBase DOS forms / reports.

        Buddy:

Now that I think of it, I do have some Writes to the screen in my
Windows app, even though it looks ugly. Alot of times it was just
the easiest way to do things! So I'll bet you're right -- I assume
        7.1 would just ignore them.

Would I have to bring up each form and report and "convert" them
to 7.1 even though I don't really want to do anything else with them
other than have them just run as they are?

So that's tip #1: replace all writes before you run a 6.5++ app
        in 7.1. Any other tips?

I believe you can run 6.5 apps provided they are not using any
command specific to R:Base DOS. One example I can think of is using the Write to
screen. This won't stop the program, but it prints char down the left side of the
screen. I'm sure there are others. Unless you plan on redoing all of your forms and
reports you must convert them to 6.5++ first. Depending on the form and report you may
be better off re-doing them.
