I believe you can run 6.5 apps provided they are not using any command specific to
R:Base DOS. One example I can think of is using the Write to screen. This won't stop
the program, but it prints char down the left side of the screen. I'm sure there are
others. Unless you plan on redoing all of your forms and reports you must convert them
to 6.5++ first. Depending on the form and report you may be better off re-doing them.

Now that we're talking about 6.5++ and 7.1 simultaneously,
I have a client on 6.5++ Dos and Windows. We'd like to convert
the Dos app slowly to 7.1, but we don't want to maintain 3 front
ends, 6.5++ dos (until it's all converted), 6.5++ Windows and
        7.1.

So has anyone scrapped 6.5++ windows exe's and run all your
6.5 apps, forms and reports from the 7.1 executable? Then we'd
just have a 7.1 front end for the existing and new windows apps
(although I'm sure it would still look like 6.5 for the "old" stuff) and
the rapidly disappearing Dos front end.

6.5++ and 7.1 running on the same database right now. It makes
conversion a lot easier - I'm doing one app at a time.
