I have the Shimano bar ends on my Bleriot and an old Trek hybrid beater, and
the Silvers on my AHH. The Bleriot is a 10 spd. that I pretty much leave
indexed. I may be impatient, but it's difficult finessing the fine
difference among ten gears in friction mode. The old Trek is an 8 spd.
which I prefer to run friction and of course there's no choice with the
Silvers.

I don't swear by anything anymore, AT a lot of stuff but that's another
story. However, if I were going to buy another set of bar ends it would be
the Silvers. The levers on the Silvers are longer than the Shimano. The
length feels better and provides much more control. I also feel the action
is more precise, although that perception could be a result of the lever
length as well. The Hilsen is a 9 spd. and I have no problems finessing
that number of gears with the Silvers. One of these days I'm going to try
the Silvers on the Bleriot and see how that goes. One of these days...
