Anne - I think the route along the water is very scenic (especially for
someone who spent the first 33 years of his life landlocked). SF to
tiburon/paradise loop is the first ride I did when I moved to california a
few years ago and still one of my favorites for a nice casual ride
especially with visitors, but you are right in that it can be a pretty
crappy ride with all the foot/bike/tourist traffic along the embaradero, gg
bridge, and sausalito portions, especially during the summer (I guess I've
lived here long enough to turn a little sour on that ride too). I don't
know what it is like after the mill valley area, so I'm assuming that is
the suburban part you are referring to, but no matter what you will have to
bike through that to get to China Camp unless I am missing something.
Either way, I want to 1. get a good ride in and 2. get from san francisco
to china camp. What would you suggest as an alternative? Or is the ferry to
larkspur what you were suggesting?
