I love my C17 saddles when I'm riding with padded underwear; they disappear
under me. Riding unpadded, not so much after a while. When I rode my Betty
around town unpadded, I couldn't stand it.

I'm now trying a B17 Select on my custom, after hearing so many good
reports on its special leather compared to the regular ones. The regular
ones I tried when I was 40 lbs heavier, I could never get fully comfortable
on, and in fact, they were quite painful after a while. I think I was
riding unpadded.

I believe part of my problem was that I couldn't push the saddle backwards
far enough, but my custom with the S84 seat post addresses that. I did ride
it with padded underwear yesterday on its maiden ride, and it was quite
comfortable for the 2.5 hours ride (report coming separately).

I still have a lot of weight to lose, so I don't know how much of a factor
having a fat behind plays in the padded vs. unpadded comfort.

Again, saddles are so very personal... Would still like to try a C19 on the
Betty/Cheviot for upright riding.
