Excellent points, Daniel and Jim. Jim, there are quite a few photos of Dunlap tire ads in the outback in that era. I’m reading “Bicycles in the Bush” and “The Lost Cyclist” and the things they rode through with essentially cyclocross tires are amazing, and with far greater weights.
