Just get a new crank , almost anything is better than an XD. Even the modest Origin8 110 BCD single/double crank for $50 is better than those.
As for those silly chainring "devices" that don't qualify as a "tool" because tools work, the Park ones at least .... are so ill fitting that I can see how people would strip the bolt. It's a "devise" of futility, and Park keeps making the same darn thing, unimproved, decade after decade after decade.
