I got an email and text from FedEx yesterday as well, asking for import
fees on a Blue Lug order placed four months ago, in mid January. First time
I'm hearing from them. I found a couple mentions online of other people
disputing the charges and the bills were put on hold, but this didn't seem
like an actual solution, just a delay.

I spoke with someone at FedEx and they said that orders placed before the
2/20 Supreme Court ruling still need to be paid, and that when refunds are
issued to FedEx they will then pay that out to whoever paid the import fees
(in this case, me). They also mentioned that there has been no action on
the refunds yet.

Seems like options are either to pay and maybe get refunded some day, or
don't pay and maybe get sent to collections (or the seller may have to pay
it? uncool). It's all very annoying for sure, but even still, if I never
get refunded for the import fee it will somehow be cheaper overall than
buying from anywhere in the US.
