Good ones are. But, that doesn't in and of itself mean it's immune to
breakage.   There's some differences in forging - hot, cold, near-net - and
how much machining takes place after the fact.  The two crank arms I had
fail were old, and failed on a radiating crack at an inlet (stress riser?)
and new and failed amidships (turns out there was a recall)
