I was reading this part of the post where Grant says "It is better in
real life than it is here, and too good to use only on this bike, so
if you buy this one you'll be the first, but not the last."  I read
'bike' to mean 'instantiation of the Sam Hillborne'.  Clearly
newenglandbike reads 'bike' to mean 'model'.
