I've had a set of the small, but very nicely made, Gilles Berthoud GB799 panniers for several years and I've used them for some short tours. Originally, I had them mounted on one of the Nitto Campee rear racks that are made with detachable low-CG grates (here: http://www.benscycle.net/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=874 ).
The Berthoud GB799 panniers weren't well suited to the Campee rack, which seemed outsized compared to the pannier bags. I've subsequently sold my Campee rack. Recently, pretty much by serendipity, I happened to find some on-line photos that showed the Nitto R-15 rear rack on a couple of bikes. That rack looked quite suitable for the GB799 panniers, so I ordered the rack from Ben's Cycle. I mounted it on my Rivendell Road Standard and I've been very pleased with the match to my Berthoud panniers! The Nitto R-15 rack appears to have been purpose designed for the Gilles Berthoud GB799 panniers - if it wasn't they certainly conform to the rack quite perfectly.
