I don't think it's unreasonable at all to ask members *not* to bad mouth CF without evidence of its defects. This is simply asking listers to be reasonable. Mere expression of bias against this, that, or the other because one doesn't happen to like it is clearly irrational and it is a great way to degrade the content and tone of a list!
To say that today's CF bicycles are dangerous because they can fail suddenly with traumatic results for the rider is a reasonable thing to do, as long as one's data is up to date. Saying that billboard graphics are ugly compared to understated graphics is fine as long as one grants sufficient leeway to others' tastes. Saying that tight lycra looks funny on fat people is fine as long as one is not cruel. But simply to sneer at people who do things differently ... well I don't have to complete the sentence.
