The last robot for my dad's team was at least three feet square and
over a foot high.  Welded aluminum square tube stock frame, 20 Kg is
about 40 pounds, I'd imagine that's in the middle.  I think a more
important concern would be that they do generally use four motors, and
run on a smooth surface.  INdividual motors probably don't get the
stress a tank motor would.
