Those ESC's are very compact, and may I say...tough. Today I was playing around with one, running one of the rotate motors when smoke started to come out of it. I quickly unplugged it from the battery. I couldn't see anything the matter with it, so I hooked it back up to the battery, and it has worked fine every since. I'm not sure why it started to smoke, but I'm thinking it might have shorted out somewhere. You can see how small these things are.
