Engine hoist worked like a charm and my back was very thankful! Earlier, on a similar HUP replacement, I told the (absentee) client that I would rent an engine hoist to lift the cells out of the steel cases, and he advised me that it would cost him less labor and travel if I bought one of the Chinese engine hoists from Harbor Freight for $90 and just kept it. Turned out to be a good application for CCC (thanks, Bob-O). A concrete floor, the engine hoist, a simple hand truck and a strong assistant to share the load made light work of both removal and installation - all 4,000 pounds of it, one 200 lb. cell at a time... so I went dancing that evening.
