I think you'll find that WAV and AIFF are playable on all platforms. Arguably WAV is the more common format. You might also want to look into PortAudio ( there is a MonkeyBread plugin available for this ) Portaudio will allow you much more flexibility than the built in RB Audio NotePlayer facilities. The other route is to use the Quicktime engine.
