Why would that matter? If I need the MBS plugin, I need it for
either version.

No, I'm sure Karen is opposed to the potential that we will select to
use a plugin from a one person operations (no offense, Christian S.)
and have that person decide to stop working on the plugin or not
support the next version of RB. In that event, the users of the
plugin are basically up the creek without a paddle. If a company is
behind a plugin in a manner that we know that the plugin will
continue, we don't have a problem paying for it.

Luckily for me, Christian S has a wonderful track record and we
continue to invest in his work each new year. But there are a number
of plugins that have been abandoned or were very late making the move
from one version of RB to another, or to a new platform (Linux, UB,
etc.).
