That's unfair. The RS plugin SDK provides documentation and code; if it needs a bit of tweaking to compile in the latest version of XCode, then that's because XCode is such a moving target. So tweak it. If you can't figure out how to fix a few compiler errors related to the version of the compiler or your project settings, it's unlikely that you're going to have much success actually creating plugins, which is a substantially harder task.
I'm not saying it couldn't be better, but calling it "nothing" is extreme.
And no fair comparing anything in the RB world to Python -- Python has many orders of magnitude more developers behind it. RB is what it is; take it or leave it, but there's no sense grousing about it.
