Hi everyone, Joe, Tim,

I'd say CodeWarrior has had its best times long ago. RIP fellow CodeWarrior.

Thanks for the link, I'll take a look into that.

In the previous mails I wasn't comparing REALbasic to Python - I was
just pointing out that I'm (and possibly a lot of other people) are
expecting to read a bit of documentation, take a template example
project with dummy functionality and start from there. And they are
expecting that an empty example project compiles on the most recent
platforms with the state-of-the-art compiler that comes with recent
version of the OS.

Personally I don't like the idea of fixing the SDK code myself,
because that's just... unprofessional. That's the job of the company
that provides the SDK in the first line, not the job of the developer
who wants to work with it.

That's kind of coding something for a customer and he comes around
with a complaint that his software is not working, and I'd be like
"Uh, yeah fix it yourself. If you can't fix it, you are probably not
worth using it anyway; but thanks for the money."

I just named the Python SDK because it works out-of-the-box with the
most recent version of Linux, Windows and OS X and the most recent
compilers - I don't have to study, debug and fix the SDK code before I
can be any productive.

I hope you understand my point here.

Did anyone consider cmake to offer an platform independent way of
building the plugin and possibly packing it into a plugin shell? I
think that would be easy to do and boost productivity of anyone
interested in writing plugins dramatically.

Thanks..
