Its cute how people believe that what is, has forever been? The nation
state for example. When was Italy born, something like 1886? And then
only some 15% of the population spoke Italian! My point, these sacred
shores, any sacred shores, since we eliminated knuckle walking and exited
the East African Rift System, homo sapiens have been the most migratory
social animal on the planet. Certainly some millions of years, and of
course Ruddock can fix this trait by incarcerating people on a rocket
range!
Have you ever been a refugee? I was born one, and the bottom line in Oz is
that if you are not of the Fourth World, you (we) all are boat people of
one generation or another, its just a question of grandfathering the boats.
Oh! about the incarceration rates for the Fourth World in Oz, it is not an
unreasonable argument to suggest that most that suffer incarceration are in
fact political prisoners, in the same manner as the IRA in Ireland. Their
people perceive many to be freedom fighters do they not?
The UN, well, its nice now to see that we are coralled alongside such peace
lovers who object to the UN as Serbia, Sierra Leone, Iraq - where many of
these boat people originate. So the boats sailing in can be seen, but the
white middle class que jumpers cannot be seen, reality don't matter, just
the eyeball on the coast, how sophisticated, just like little Johnny.
