I'm already having fun. Just second-doubts. It is so very foreign to me
and I've done some plain old dumb stuff already. I appreciate very much the
encouragement and offers for help. No one I know is using Linux. A few use
Unix at the college, but it's mostly using the programs written for Unix
that they know from the "push this button" perspective. I've never been
happy with that use of my computer and I'm hoping Linux will let me hack its
kernel someday. I will probably have to learn all about the innards of
Pentium/PCI/USB computers like I used to know about the oldies. So I won't
burn my system with the wrong call--AGAIN! (I've done that twice now.)
I'll probably also have to learn some of the new programming languages.

So--I just wondered if perhaps I'd bitten off more than I can chew. I
definitely have the time. I'm stuck in this recliner with the keyboard on
my lap and the mouse on the arm 16-20 hours a day! Thank god for the
Internet!
