After installing the system seven times tonight alone, I have been able to get the
system to boot using:
"linux root=/dev/hda1 initrd=" at the rescue prompt and my system boots fine.
I go to /sbin and run lilo, says Added linux *, reboot and the system still hangs up
at LIL- ...
And nothing more
My lilo.conf says:
Boot=/dev/hda1
Map=/boot/map
Install=/boot/boot.b
Prompt
Timeout=50
Image=/boot/vmlinuz-2.0.32
Label=linux
Root=/dev/hda1
Read-only
When I boot with a dos floppy and run fdisk, the active dos partition I had created
earlier is gone and there is only a Non-dos partition and an extended dos partition.
My aim is to re-write this so I can make a bootable dos partition ultimately, if I
don't toss it out the 2nd story window first....
