[General] Rawhide?

OkaY all, stupid newbie question.
  I keep seeing references to Rawhide. I see a Rawhide directory on the
RedHat site but is this supposed to be the "official source" of any new
RPMs that are setup as compatible with the RedHat file locations as
compared to RPMs from rpmfind.net that are not from RedHat itself?
