Hi,

I just discovered that my secondary DNS file named.mydomain is not being
updated since Apr 11th!

I try nslookup (in resolv.conf I have my DNS searched in the first place), I
get:
[root@Rec1 /root]# nslookup www.hotmail.com
*** Can't find server name for address 209.227.187.130: No response from
server
Server: rec2.mydomain.com
Address: 209.227.187.132

Non-authoritative answer:
Name: www.hotmail.com
Addresses: 64.4.53.7, 64.4.54.7, 64.4.43.7, 64.4.44.7
          64.4.45.7, 64.4.52.7

Server Rec2 is a cache DNS for mydomain.

AND, when I execute ps aux | grep named, I find 2 named processes running!
(named -u named)

I kill all named processed, I try to restart ndc, it freezes and I get the
following i my /var/log/messages file:
Apr 18 11:49:46 Rec1 named[29715]: There may be a name server already runni
ng on [127.0.0.1].53

248
Apr 18 11:53:46 Rec1 named[29769]: Ready to answer queries.

I'm still getting "can't find server name for address....." after nslookup!

named might not be binding on any interface.
What do you think the problem is?
How can we solve this?

Thanks in advance
Regards
Nathalie.
