If you don't have a performance issue, your time is probably better
spent elsewhere... In any case, run top and have a look at your cpu
utilization. If you've got *any* idle time, then making things run
faster is a waste of time since you're not using all the cpu that's
currently available.
You've got a problem most people can only hope to have :-).
